Your rooms at Aurum Lodge

come with this view in spring or fall

Aurum Lodge B&B will be closing end of September 2023 until further notice.

Two standard rooms on the upper floor, each with one king bed, ensuite bathroom with shower and a shared sunroom. Separate orthopaedic mattresses and bedding for each guest in a single frame.
The sunroom is partitionable and makes for an ideal common area for couples travelling together or a family with older kids.
Breakfast included. Evening meals optional with advance reservation.
Two superior corner rooms offer some extra space, even more light and bathrooms with tub-showers.
The corner room on the main floor has two single beds, whereas the upstairs room (shown) has the king bed with two orthopaedic mattresses and separate bedding for each guest.
Breakfast included. Evening meals optional with advance reservation.
Our anniversary Suite, also on the upper floor, is our largest room with a jetted tub, bathroom with shower and a king bed. It too has the separate orthopaedic mattresses and individual bedding for each guest.
A pull-out sofa can accommodate a younger child for a family of three.
Breakfast included. Evening meals optional with advance reservation.
For a family / group of three adults or parents with two children we recommend either the two standard room combination or our self-contained two bedroom apartment.

General information for guests staying in Lodge rooms

B&B or half-board

  • Lodge guests have a choice of three room types.
  • Breakfast is included in room rate. Evening meals optional most times.
  • Common areas available to guests in the lodge include the dining area, sitting room, a sitting area on the landing of the upper floor and a spacious deck with that very special view.
  • A small reference library with books on activities and natural history in the area.
  • Our breakfasts include a selection of wholemeal bread, cereal, fruits, yogurt, porridge, eggs or pancakes, coffee or tea and juice. Breakfast is served between 7.30 and 9 am.
  • Whereas we are essentially a B&B, there are few options to eat out in the area, so we offer set evening meals for guests staying in the lodge. These are served at 6:30 pm and must be booked a few days in advance. Dinner includes a main course, salad, dessert and all beverages. The cost is C$ 40 per person plus GST.
  • Meals in the lodge are available exclusively for guests staying in lodge rooms and in winter we include evening meals in room rates, as there are no places to eat out in the area.
  • We do not offer lunches, so bring non-perishable snacks along for the trails. Lodge rooms do not include food preparation or storage facilities.
  • The lodge is a dwelling with multiple guest rooms and a single entrance, so we do ask our guests to respect our quiet times (10:30 pm - 6:30 am). For visitors wishing to leave extra early or return late or guests with younger children, we recommend our self-contained vacation rentals which have separate entrances.
  • WiFi is available in the lodge 6:30 am to 10:30 pm. However, we are on satellite internet with limited bandwidth and do request our guests to use it sparingly for e-mail and basic browsing only.
  • We are not licensed to sell alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own for pre- or after-dinner drinks. Our evening meals include a complimentary glass of wine or beer though.
  • Whereas a friendly dog resides on the main floor, our guest rooms are pet free.
We do welcome dogs in our self-contained vacation rental units though.
